Last semester, Mr. Stewart's Communication Technology class was asked to produce audioscapes. Audioscapes are field recording of a natural or urban environment. Anthony Hamelin is joined by Willy and Aaron as they hike the rocks behind Webbwood, Ontario.

EVOLUTIONARY BAND ROCKS ESPANOLA

Evolutionary Band is a unique full orchestral rock band from Confederation High School in Espanola, Ontario. In this episode, SYR music reporters Devon, Jessica and Paige interview some of the Guinness Record-breaking Evolutionary Band musicians and stage crew as well as band guru Mr. Mac. If you listen, you'll also learn what the Rolling Stones have promised them.

OPEN MIC featuring ANGELE SWEENEY EHS musician Angele Sweeney came into the studios this week to record her anti-poverty protest song "STARVING IN A GROCERY STORE." Her haunting lyrics document the plight of millions of children across the world who starve while so few of us eat like pigs. Do you have a talent to share? Let us know!

Karen Kosowski, a singer songwriter who hails from Winnipeg via Toronto, has just launched her newest album to much critical acclaim. Her combination of powerful lyrics, quirky hooks, versatile vocals and stage personality puts her on the SYR Must Listen list for 2008. This episode, hosted by Madeline Lemire, was our first phone interview with someone who has never even been to Espanola but she had heard of what we were doing and was impressed.
